Earlier this week, our customers joined us at the Fess Parker DoubleTree Resort in Santa Barbara for our annual Customer Conference. Each year we are excited to welcome back familiar faces and meet new ones; and the energy our property management customers bring with them is palpable. Everyone enjoyed three packed days of educational sessions, networking meetings, hands-on interactive workshops, new product announcements, and a chance to meet with an AppFolio Genius for one-on-one support (and that’s just a sampling of all the great activities).
The overarching theme of this year’s event was The Keys to a Successful Business, and one of those keys—and one very important to AppFolio—is happiness. Invited to the stage was Michelle Gielan, author of Broadcasting Happiness and an expert in Positive Psychology, to present her findings on how a slight attitude shift and more positive outlook on even the smallest thing can help drive your business success. We also invited back Stephanie McCleskey from Axiometrics, leading provider of apartment market data, to talk to customers about trends in the market, as well as Puneet Singh, a managing partner from Kimball, Tirey, and St. John LLP, who shared tips on how to sue-proof a property management business.
Each year we hold sessions where product experts and AppFolio power users can share their best practices on how to adopt recently launched features, as well as lessons on how to optimize the use of existing ones for improved efficiency. This year’s agenda featured hands-on, interactive workshops that asked property managers to work together to solve business challenges, using AppFolio’s agile approach to product development as a guide. They were a huge hit and property managers walked away with actionable tips to take back to their business.
The AppFolio Customer Conference is an opportunity for all of us to meet our customers face to face, listen to feedback and product suggestions, and hear personal success stories using AppFolio Property Manager. We said it about the 2015 Customer Conference, and we’ll keep saying it: We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
