AppFolians in Dallas Give Back to Willowcreek Park

One of our company values here at AppFolio is “We do the right thing; it’s good for business.” That value doesn’t end when we leave the office; it’s taken out into our communities in Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Dallas. AppFolians are as passionate about giving back as they are about providing excellent solutions and service to our customers.

Dallas Gives Back to a Local Park

Volunteers from the Dallas office recently cleaned up the Willowcreek park area, which is a popular destination for the Plano and Richardson communities who enjoy the playground, picnic pavilion, practice fields, and trails. AppFolio volunteers got to step out of the office and into the sunshine to get some fresh air, socialize with their colleagues and friends, and of course, beautify the park for the community!

The sign-up sheet is already filling up for the next volunteer opportunity which is to help with the Plano Community Garden Center. What better way to spend a summer day at work?

What’s VTO?

You may be wondering how AppFolians can volunteer during the work week. The secret is making it easy for employees to perform volunteer service by providing all full-time AppFolio employees who have completed at least six months of employment with eight hours of Volunteer Time Off (VTO) per year. With a full calendar of Give Back events, there are many opportunities for AppFolians at all of our offices to find time to volunteer.

The benefits are numerous. Of course, the community benefits, but employees also get some time away with their colleagues to give back to a cause they care about. It’s an opportunity to meet new people you may not work with on a day-to-day basis, build upon relationships you’ve already formed, and go back to the office feeling rejuvenated and proud.
