“The ability to be mobile has been huge for us. We can do inspections in the field now. We used to have to write inspections down, take pictures on a digital camera, bring them back, upload them, do all these different moving pieces. When our HOA division is in the field doing violation drives, they can take pictures and before they even pull out of the community, they're pushing buttons. It's real time execution.”
Born in the cloud
“Now that we’re on a cloud-based software, I can be sitting on the beach with a beer in my hand and handling rent rolls. I don't feel as bad on the days I'm not in the office or I'm out traveling because my team can call me and say, ‘Hey, what's going on?’ And no matter where I'm at, I can pop it up on my phone. I can dive in and go, ‘Hey, look here, check here.’ That wasn't possible on our old system: when you were out of the office, you were completely unplugged.”
Unlocking limitless potential
“Since we started on AppFolio, we’ve added about 450 units on the multifamily side, and we've grown our HOA division about 40 plus communities, 2,800 doors give or take. This never would've been possible with our previous solution. The communication features on AppFolio allow us to create real time, first-call resolution experiences, which is vital and gives us an edge, especially in the HOA world, where members expect a response right now. As far as sustaining the growth, our turnaround time is off the charts when onboarding a new property. I can have a 90 unit apartment complex entered into the system, marketing material written, everything done within an hour.”
Efficiency, efficiency, efficiency
“We know we're spending a little bit more for better software, but it's making our team so efficient that maybe we don't need to be as big. Maybe our team can be a little bit more remote on some things. Or maybe now we only need a part-time person here versus a full-time person. It's given us way more flexibility and options when it comes to staffing.”
